Blood Rose Corsage Art Couture Cuff
An entire porcelain rose figurine complete with foliage and stem is incorporated into this design. Most of the other components are a mix of matte and shiny black vintage costume jewelry, as well as fabric and satin buttons, a green cat eye marble, and a dangle for movement interest. This Statement piece is built on 3” wide brass cuff; and rises approximately 2 ½” making the overall height 4” and 4” from wide at the center top of the cuff. It will slide down towards the hand on a 7” wrist to make it fairly stable and wearable, but without adjustment it fits the 7”- 8” wrist.
I used tiny glass beads to create a “caviar paste” to coat the delicate edges of the porcelain petals as well as a finishing touch in the cracks and crevices and in general, enhance and strengthen the piece - it is something that takes extra time, and materials, but is the difference between looking ordinary or beautiful…
