Rays of muted brass are mounted on a chunk of vintage 1 ½” wide brown & gold woven belt. There is an old ric-rac hoop earring that now serves as the focal center container holding a vintage heraldic metal button, clear marble, an Apache Tear agate; and, finished with glass caviar paste for added strength and appeal.
The “clasp” is Velcro so it adjusts to fit a wide range of wrist sizes. The centerpiece measures 3”x 2 ¾” x ¾”.

This Lightweight Belt Bracelet is perfect for any occasion and is a sure conversation starter! The story behind the Apache Tear Legend is certainly fascinating.
There are several versions of the Apache Tear Legend, but with variations, it goes:
“The name "Apache Tears" is from a Native American legend of Arizona. During a battle between Apaches and the US Cavalry in 1870, the outnumbered Apaches, facing defeat, rode their horses over a cliff rather than allow themselves to be killed by their enemy. Their families cried when they received the sad news, and their tears turned to stone as they hit the ground.” www.wikipedia.org/
Additionally, the geological origin is interesting too! "Apache tears originate from lava flows, lava domes or ash-flow tuffs. These are often in close association with or embedded in, gray perlite. Formation is apparently related to differential cooling and various alkali and water contents. Excessive water present during cooling and quenching of rhyolitic lava causes obsidian to hydrate (i.e., water entering the obsidian glass converts it to perlite)."
This Lightweight Belt Bracelet has an un-drilled agate pebble. This agate is 5/8” x ¾" which is pretty typical. Further, the agate has been polished to a beautiful shine and it is glowingly translucent.
