Petrified Wood Bracelet
$275.00
Petrified Art! It’s a chunk of petrified wood – yes, it’s a rock – from the Southwest. Why? Because I loved the variety of colors in it… charcoal gray, ivory, orange, and yellow.
I covered a 2 ½” brass cuff with a golden taupe net (like what fruit is sold in), mounted the rock to the top; then added wood and agate beads, a 1960s enameled flower pin, carved bone leaf, buttons, and a tendril of taupe rhinestones.

The rock in this Petrified Wood Bracelet is 1 ½” tall. Therefore, making the overall profile lower and hence easier to wear for everyday fashion. As you might expect, it looks great with jeans. But it is a spectacular juxtaposition with business or polished evening attire (think the clean lines of Armani.)

So, what is petrified wood?
Fossilized terrestrial vegetation makes up petrified wood. For instance, made from full-sized three-dimensional plants and not just impressions. These plants transitioned into stone with time and pressure. Similar to a diamond, but not. Found in a number of locations around the world including the United States. For instance, this piece was found in New Mexico.
