Lenox: A True American success story!
Its long history started in 1889 by Walter Scott Lenox (1859-1920) in Trenton in New Jersey. Originally used as an art studio to produce the ceramic articles of “civilized life”. There were not yet mass produced, in fact, they only had eighteen employees.
Over the years, the corporation changed its name many times to reflect the needs of a given era and as well as business. Regardless of the date on the calendar, the name LENOX has always been synonymous with quality and beauty meeting practical purpose.
Aside from countless chinaware with diverse purposes, it has also produced serving pieces, vases and decorative items. Including table cloths, napkins and nearly any other product that supported fine living wares. They partnered with other prestigious companies like Gorham Manufacturing Company, Department 56, and Dansk International.
