Sweet Tea Cup Rhinestone Structural Art Story Cuff

$286.00

Remember when you served tea to Teddy Bear and Dolly from “play” tea cups and saucers?  These are genuine “china” from Japan – these days they are made of plastic!

There is an enameled metal long-stemmed rose laid in the saucer and a prong set hyacinth orange daisy spans the cup top.  The edge is a twisted plastic rope that used to be a choker necklace and it is finished with silver and light blue paste of glass caviar.

So, what is this caviar I use tiny glass beads to make a caviar paste to hide any glue, unsightly findings, and in general enhance and strengthen the piece.  It is something that takes extra time, and materials, but is the difference between ordinary and SPECTACULAR!  Kind of like the difference between a fried egg and a souffle; a dash-out-the-door makeup job and a look-like-a-movie-star or Paris runway ready!  I think you get the picture…

This unique structural art story cuff is made from a variety of vintage components.  These include copper enameled pin, potato chip plastic and rhinestone earrings, satin glass cab navettes and baby blue rhinestones.  I've also added orange givre glass beads, 50s soft plastic lacey floral earring, and art glass bead dangles.  Together with tiny light blue seed beads there are the two-tone black and green striped rectangular beads.  They combine to act as foliage in some of the spires to look a little like a garden.

It is built on a 2” wide cuff; construction rises approximately 2 ½” above the cuff surface making the overall height 4 ½” and 2 ½” across the middle of the design.  I have about a 7” wrist and it slides down towards my hand enough to make it stable enough to wear, but without adjustment it fits a 7½ - 8 ½” wrist better.
